I first went skiing as a freshman in college, then as a first year dental student, then during my last year of dental school. And I wondered why I never actually got any better or more comfortable.
Cold, gloomy morning.
We left at 530a to get there in time for our morning lesson!
Nick knows how to snowboard, but not ski. We were "determined to get better" so in January 2011 we went to Tahoe and skied for two days, did well and then didn't go back for two years. Le sigh..
BUT! Now we've got a 4WD car (necessary for trips to the snow) AND we're now "more determined" to get better. So we headed back to Tahoe and skied for
three days this time (with a half day lesson each day) and really did do better! I'd never skied more than the
beginner green trails before and spent all of the last day on
intermediate blue trails - yay!!
Being an intermediate skier works up an appetite!!
I don't have any pics on the slopes because it was
waytoocold to take a camera out, but if you head to my FB page, the cover photo is a pretty good picture - on top of the mountain overlooking Lake Tahoe.
We spent a few hours snowshoeing - so peaceful!
Number #18 - CHECK!! We're planning on going back at least one more time this year -- anybody want to come skiing??
